Now I was not taught to hit low, go for a knee or head hunt but if you did knock someone out of the game it was rewarded when you made it back to your bench. Tell me there isn't some "teaching" there when a coach tells you "hell of a play son, now get out there and do it again"?

I think you are getting your memories confused with when you used to say "2, 4, 6, 8 who do we appreciate". Yeah we don't do that in college......:bsjerk:

Why do you think coaches get all riled up on "big hits" if they don't want that player out of the game?
I know I love to live in the glory days of "what could have been" . I love to make sure everyone knows how much of a hardass I was back in the day or how my coach made us eat nails and glass and gave us dog bones for every injured opposing player or one of those little helmet stickers.

Yep, I played for Sissy U and Pansy HS and we wore pink uniforms with pom poms and I was the punter and kicker.

Yeah, my coaches wanted us to make friends with the other teams we played and ask them politely to step aside while we scored a touchdown. How did you guess?

One one hand you're talking about injuring players and the other you're bitching about running up the score.....maybe I AM confused.
