I was and for that I am wrong.... I'm thinking though there may be some players looking to play past the whistle and that bodes bad for Brady. Maybe not this year but soon. Wonder what the Pats would be like w/o Brady? Me thinks BeliCHEAT needs to think that through since he is such a football genius. And I mean that - he is a very knowledgeble coach - its just he's a poor excuse for a person.

Yeah, silly me. Call it a hunch that I figured since you live in MD that there's more than a chance you root for the Ray and the other cons. Fine, I'll give you credit for seeing they are dispicable thugs who barely stay out of jail.

This is pro sports, made up of adult men. The players seem to handle it better than the fans can apparently.

Face what? Yeah, I live in NE and love the home team win or lose. And your point is...?????? They just happen to be doing well right now. Haven't seen too much in the Boston Globe regarding running up the score....don't care either. Didn't make a big deal when other teams did it to us either....86 Superbowl against the Bears with the "Fridge" on a goalline stand as RB.

It's pro sports, grow up or don't play. You don't like losing, work harder, build a better team.

The only reason to pull out starters is to prevent injury. Injuries most commonly happen when letting up and not being 100% alert. Belichick is keeping them alert and giving them more game time experience at full speed. That's common knowledge ( I thought).

      Not cheap, just thorough.

Latenight - MUST be Karma. I played for the UCF Knights! 3 years baby but that was BEFORE Culpepper. Too bad - I would have loved to have played with him. In my day we ran a modified two back wishbone. Basically, that meant student body left, student body right but I was a back so I got plenty of action..... Culpepper brought credibility to the school and it's program.

Explain what, I really have no idea what you are talking about. I may have missed something in that game since I turned it off after the 2nd quarter. Did he do something to someone on the Dolphins?

I know I love to live in the glory days of "what could have been" . I love to make sure everyone knows how much of a hardass I was back in the day or how my coach made us eat nails and glass and gave us dog bones for every injured opposing player or one of those little helmet stickers.

Yep, I played for Sissy U and Pansy HS and we wore pink uniforms with pom poms and I was the punter and kicker.

Yeah, my coaches wanted us to make friends with the other teams we played and ask them politely to step aside while we scored a touchdown. How did you guess?

One one hand you're talking about injuring players and the other you're bitching about running up the score.....maybe I AM confused.

Wow! Coincidental, at best. I don't play for them, yet. I am freshman and will be walking on my Sophomore year. Lucky for me I am in Engineering, so 5 years in college to get my 4 out of FBall won't be so bad. Had some nagging injuries from HS and opted out of trying for a scholarship / playing freshman year.

I've got tons of friends who play for them already, and friends who work for them. Luckily for me I already know the inner structures of the team, so I don't feel I'll have a problem. Well, that, and being 6'4"/295 isn't soo bad.

I thought you were talking about some significant cheap shot during the game.

Who cares if he changed his mind besides the whiny Dolphins fans? Bruschi was also considering retirement for a while it was rumored. Is that it? Nothing earth-shattering about that.

You got me, I'm a big time bandwagon Pats fan. That's me! I guess I better not ever watch them again or get excited if they win. Gimme a freakin break. That's the same accusation everyone uses everytime there's a disagreement in what team to root for. Sure, let me sign on to your favorite team because Junior Seau changed his mind. Strong arguement.

If him "retiring" from the Dolphins, just to get out a contract, then signing with the Pats isn't classless, I don't know what is...

I'd have to see what was in the contract and what the whole story is so that he felt that was the only way out of his contract. It's hard believe that he couldn't just buy it out or everyone in the league who didn't like their team would be doing that. There's more to the story I'm guessing.

The guy has been great here, always willing to help the younger guys, always in there to make big plays directly and indirectly. I think I do recall some allegations of wife battery or something in the past. Maybe I'm wrong but if that's true I can't support that behavior.

damn Steelers "running up the score" on the Ravens on Monday Night Football right now! 35 - 0
.....and that is 5 PASSING touchdowns mind you. Not running.

      ...just jacking up the score.

I watched the game yesterday after my Lions trounced the Broncos. Two great teams having a war with each other, it was a good game. It looked to me like the Colts were outplaying them and then Indianapolis gets a pass interference that puts Brady and Co. on the door step and then they give up a huge pass to Moss on another drive and just like that the Pats jump in front. But up until then I thought the Pats were gettin' their asses handed to them. What really has me curious is the cold exchange between Dungy and Belichick afterwards. What the hell is going on there?

You guys have to remember, this whole Brady vs. Manning thing, every great quarterback that ever played the game was a product of his offensive line. Montana, Marino, Farve, Brady, Manning....they all have had great lines playing in front of them. Trust me, you put Brady or Manning behind Arizona's offensive line and you'll have yourself an instant Joey Harrington. Give any quarterback time to throw and they're going to put up numbers and win some games.

And I say that as a long time fan of Tom Brady's. I remember when he was at Michigan and playing well but yet all these ding bats kept calling for Drew Henson to be put in the game. I could never figure it out. So I became a big Tom Brady fan back then and I've always been.

the Steelers can beat the Pats. Will they, hard to say. They'd need to play their "A" game for sure, but very possible.

Uh...I dunno about that Jody. They have a very solid defense and a good, but not great offense. They have been spotty on the run-side. Last nights game is not a really accurate sample, the Ravens are NOT a good team.

I understand that. I watch every game, not just the blowouts; haven't missed a Steelers game in many years.

I'm just saying that I think the Pats are beatable, and I think the Steelers on their game can do it. Will they, well the odds are they won't, but it is not impossible in my opinion.

This takes nothing away from the Pats, they have been phenomenal.

      You could be right.

Regardless, the Superbowl will be the AFC Championship game this year ala the 49ers/Cowboys NFC final games of the 80's-90's.

The term "Running up the score" is something that a little whiney b**** came up with IMO.

If a team wins by a blowout, they just win....period. The other team sucked that day.
This isn't charity. This isn't figure skating either, This is Football. Act like it.

      Damn good post IMO.

The fans need to stop whining. They put an offense on the field to score, not play footsie.
You can't handle it build a better team. Obviously the players are fine
with it. The fans need to stop their b*tchfests and man up and realize
      it is a game.

You lose big , you lose small. You win small, you win big.
Either way, Bellicheck is a phenomenal coach and now they are out
to prove to the media that the cheating tape fiasco has nothing
to do with their talents.....and now they're on a path to prove it.

People cry that they cheated....now that they're proving they don't
need to, people are still crying.....they can't win with sissy fans.
