Hello from Dallas, Texas with some Fords!

Just joined... nice site...great cars.. I'm in Dallas Texas and for a long while an EFI Mustang person.. I have an '88 LX Coupe, dark blue with a 5.8L motor and a Vortech S Trim.. M2300 disc brakes, Eibach springs, 18x8/18x9 Moda R6 wheels, FloFit seats, Momo steering wheel...

When I wanted to learn more about the 60's Fords, I considered another Mustang ... then learned about the history of the Ford Falcon, which is the father of the Mustang. I found a nice 1963 Falcon Sprint Hardtop, very good shape and lots of documentation in Arizona. A good driving car for being 44 yrs old! A little 260 CI V8 was the first V8 Ford put in the Falcon.. I think the old 60's Fords look great with a few mods... at this time just generating some ideas...

Yes my old Falcon is in decent shape, runs and drives great...the entire car except the RR quarter is original Ford paintwork. Car has chips/wear etc but it is a nice example of the history. I have the original papers, window sticker, buyer's order and much more from CA when the car was brand new. It cost $2860 in June 63 and the owner put $20 down! AM radio was a big ticket item at $58...

I checked out your site, very nice.. that Falcon is pretty similar, white and hardtop...looks great.. and I love 351w's bumped to higher cube... I run a 351w/ in my 88 LX Mustang..I'd like to see more pics of your Falcon.. as for my 63, nothing drastic, probably a Vintage Air A/C system, some 17" wheels, suspension (maybe air ride) and a hidden FM/CD stereo system. Right now I have a set of the Heritage Mach 1 17x8 wheels but am also considering Ford Black Bullitts and Coy's gun metal wheels.

I'd like to know how the US and AU Falcons compared, back in the 60's. A great idea for Ford is to take the current AU Falcon, refresh as needed and introduce in the USA as the "new" Ford Falcon, rear wheel drive, coupe, 5.4L v8, big brakes, ...

Here's a few more pictures and one of the original window sticker. Being a Sprint model, it has a few emblems and interior touches slightly different than the regular Falcon. This one was built in San Jose, CA and stayed there from 63 to 90. What is neat is the car is pretty presentable even though the paint is 44 yrs old, pretty shiny and fairly straight. Thanks for the compliment!

I have mentioned this in other threads that my dad had a 63 1/2 Falcon Sprint that he bought new in 63.
Black/red interior,wire wheels,260 4 speed, dual spot light mirrors.
He only had the car for less than a year.
(sold because of having a 3 year old and a newborn)
But he still talks about that car with a twinkle in eye.
I really think that they are cool rides!

It has been a while since I visited the site, and I can't wait to get back into all the projects and cars people are doing this year.

An update on my Falcon, it has changed quite a bit.

AirRide 4000e2 AirPod, SA ShockWaves and AirOverLeaf
American Salt Flats 17"

The car now has a nice little attitude and its own style; I have been enjoying it a lot. Being a survivor car and unrestored, it has a nice 45 yr old patina to it.

I've seen your Mustang on some of the Mustang forums. Nice car! I love the early Falcon's too. Yours looks like a nice survivor. I like the Salt Flats on it. They fit the look of the car.

Well it's been a while since I've been around here but I have a new ride now.. thanks for all the compliments on the Falcon, it was a great car and had a blast in it every moment. It has been sold to a guy in Australia.... he is having fun with it and we keep in touch via email.

For the update on my new ride, it is a '56 Thunderbird I found out in Colorado. An older restoration that needs to be redone eventually, but it's in running condition. Had to put some wheels on it and w/ the 5.0L roller EFI motor under the hood, there will be some interesting times ahead!

and a few other modern touches.
Also restoring a '55 Bel Air convertible to close to stock specs.

I had the car out all day today, first an alignment, then out to lunch followed by stopping off to see a few people in town and a trip to the muffler shop for a "system consultation". The system has a few holes and some old mufflers so it will be replaced w/ a 2 1/4" custom built set up hopefully soon.
