I have had several conversations with them and the passive unit is motion activated, thus you would ware out the battery just walking around. It does have a way to shut it off but would you?

When you guys get back from SEMA, I hope you bring back some information about any "push to start" systems that you find.

I have put together a microprocessor based single button Push-to-Start system. This is my second working prototype and I've worked out all the bugs so it really kicks ass! Every car person who's witnessed it's functionality has expressed real interest and I want to start taking orders. I have found it extremely difficult to price this Push-to-Start system since I've built it by hand. My plan is to order the parts for and build 100 units so I can accurately gauge my time+cost ratio. Obviously if I order and build more than one at a time, I will be able to reduce the cost of production.

With a RFID security system and non-locking steering column, you will NEVER have to take the keys out of your pocket.

My wife thinks I'm crazy for wanting to do this in light of the economic situation, and I truly believe it will be a success.

My question to you... How much would you expect to pay for a Push-to-Start system?

Looks nice! Not sure how much I would pay, but I am interested.

What price point are you thinking? You're the one who knows your costs.

The only one on the market so far is by Flaming River and most people do not like them and the over priced at $550.00 I'd say some where around $300.00 if your trying to move them along. I'm intersted but would like to see more details on install and function.

Like the title says, is there any development for a push button start in the works like the new C6 corvette AND pass-key (activate the door membrane to go into the car) ??

Flaming River had a new product at SEMA. They have incorporated the push button start/pass key into their columns.

      Pretty cool setup:

I would like to know more about your system and how it works first. I am willing to spend an appropriate amount of money - $200 to $400 should be a range you could work with.

add me to the list, I'm local so if you need to test i'd be happy to help. I would pay 200.00 to 400.00 depending on set up. Thanks

Look for a Video -- Soon

I understand you want to know the operation and it's very complicated for me to explain! It would be much better to show how it works and I am in the process of making a short video. I am hoping to get it done by Wednesday or Thursday.

anybody looked into using the ISIS system for push to start. i need to call them and discuss the specifics, but their modules are programable, and i would think you could tell it to do what you want. if it can use one wire to make one light do multiple functions(ie. brake, turn signal, flasher) using multiple switches, i would think that it could make one switch do multiple functions based on a specific input (one push, two pushes, push and hold). i was thinking of this system already since it incorporates the RFID. its about 1k, but it wires the car, gives you a remote, and may offer push to start. it would make it even more worth it.

      anybody know?

      Hi Tim -

Yes..ISIS can easily be configured to adapt to the one button push start. It is an easy program that we have developed and can upload to the ISIS system. A couple of other added features that ISIS has if you add the $179 key fob is the security of the ISIS system...upon enabling we lock out the ignition, starter, and fuel pump...we lock this out on the Mastercell board which means even if you attemtped to hot wire the 1-button push start, the mastercell will not allow it. The "Security" feature can be applied to any other output you like. The key fob also has the ability to control up to 16 other outputs.

If needed, check out the ISIS video to see the 1 button push start...it's roughly 17 minutes long and I think the 1 button push start is near the end.

      Here is the link:

BTW - There is a promo going on until Dec 31...enter in "sema" and save 10% of your entire order.

      karl - thanks for the reply. ive seen that video a couple of times, and im more impressed each time i see it. but, the video still didnt answer the question about push button start. it did show the button function for the ignition and starter, but didnt state whether you could do a;

      one push - accessories
      two push - ignition
      push and hold - starter

id like to keep one button instead of adding another for the accessories.

      thanks, tim

      Hi Tim -

      Yes we can do that.

On a side note...the car we had at SEMA had the S2000 push button switch. However, we found the S2000 push button to be cheap in appearance...only an opinion. Instead of using the S2000 switch on our display, we found a stainless steel push-button from Bulgin that we used. It is fully sealed and has a LED ring around the buttom that you can use to indicate when the switch is on. This can be purchased from the Digikey website. Attached is the data sheet from the website.

      Thanks,
      Karl

It's cool that you have a new product that you want to bring to the market...but... Why dont you go to the "Welcome to our message board/ New cars" and introduce yourself? Also, I think in order to sell any product, you need to become a vendor on this board. Your product sounds cool...I can't wait to see how it works.

Karl, in order to do the push button start we would have to buy you whole set up correct?
