Hemi intake EFI conversion: warning -- large pics

      **Updated 10 January**

Changed the pictures below, since I finished the fuel rails and hold-downs. The intake's on its way back to the owner for powdercoating and getting the throttle plates & linkages put back on. The fuel rails were drilled for the injectors, the outer lower edge was beveled to allow the injectors' electrical connectors to clear, and the ends of the rails were drilled, tapped, and chamfered for a -8 AN O-ring fitting. I took a shot at polishing the rails as well.
      **end update**

Thought some of you might be interested in how this manifold is coming along. Still have to do the matching fuel rails, fabricate hold-down brackets, etc..but I'm happy with it so far.

I started with angle cut 3/4" 6061 solid round stock, welded them to each runner using a wooden jig with 3/4" holes drilled to locate the bungs in 2 dimensions. My friend Tracy Grimm welded them..the 30 year old dirty casting would've defeated me.

Next was the Bridgeport; I milled them all to the same height, center drilled them into the port, and then drilled the opening the injector o-ring will seat in. A chamfer on the top of each one was the last operation.

A welder and a Bridgeport are an awesome combination!

      Nice work.

That's VERY cool. Looking forward to future updates.

Kendall, what the heck are you gonna do with those two extra cylinders? Sheesh, those are gonna make for one heck of a vacuum leak since theyll be hanging off then end of the V6 heads :icon_razz:

Just givin ya grief man. Looking good and inquiring minds wanna know what kinda project the intake is a part of :D .

BTW, Happy Christmas, Merry new year, and all the associated happy hoorah.
GMC Syclone (currently wrecked thanks to the typical rubber headed VA driver not paying attention to his red stop light...oh and he didnt have insurance either)

This isn't for a motor like a turbo V6 that's gonna make any kind of horsepower..just a crate 528 hemi. It's going in a 65 Belvedere (? I think..). Should be pretty cool looking when it's powdercoated flat black with the stacks on top.

Updated my original post above; injector bungs and rails are done and it's off for powdercoating, linkage, etc.
