kansas 1954 Chevy belair project
Love this site, have been in progress of putting together a 1954 Chev Belair 2dr hdtp, been scrounging parts for 3 yrs now, good deal on a wrecked 14k mile trans am, bought it and parted much of the body, kept the LS1 and 6 spd, then found a 4l60E from a new GTO w/ 400 miles and sold the 6spd for more than the auto, now am getting psyched to pull the existing motor and drop in the LS. For now she will be a rat rod to run to car gatherings, etc, in future have dreams of painting it in my spare winter time and 17's in front, 18's in rear laid a little lower and looking "pro touring". Right now I have no money in the drivetrain as I got it all back parting the TA. Anyone have any idea how hard it would be to swap front spindles/discs to the 54 as I still have the TA crossmember w/ susp when I dropped out the motor? Also, what is a good choice in rearend for this beast, want to stay Chevy bolt pattern, but the TA rear is way to wide, was told 58-59" is most I want to go, but do not want to spend the big bucks just yet.
