      4l80e to crate ls2 questions

I have my car setup to run a lsx motor and a 4l80e trans right now. I already have the trans and will be ordering a crate ls2 in the very near future. My question is will the 80e converter bolt right up to the flywheel that is provided with the crate ls2?

I also am wondering what to do about a converter. I am going to be putting a nice cam in the motor and maybe some mild head work to the stock heads. My 9 inch has 370 gears. What would be suggested for a converter? I plan to take this car on the power tour when its ready so it needs to be tame enough to pull some good miles on the hwy.

Give Steve a call at Twist Machine. He can spec out a converter for you, and he is the man for automatics!

I'm running the same combo. I ran the stock LS flywheel with a GM adapter that allows the 4L80E converter to reach the crank index hole for the nose. It's basically a spacer with longer bolts; otherwise the converter nose will not reach the crank recess.

You can also use a custom converter that has the extended nose to reach the crank, and may be the way to go if you don't have a converter yet. I already had mine, so I used the adapter.
