02 engine harness into 04 GTO body harness

I'm installing a 2002 LS1 into my 69 firebird convertible. I ran across a complete 2004 GTO interior (yes it will fit with persuasion). The problem is how do I connect the 02 engine harness with the 04 body harness? I'm trying to keep all the bells and whistles that come with the 04 GTO interior. Any ideas? Suggestions? I also have both service manuals, one for the 02 and one for the 04 GTO. I didn't see any connectors that would mate the two harnesses together. Sorry for the long question.

I would think you're doing something too custom that would require
a wiring schematic for both cars.....well actually all 3 cars depending
on if you're integrating both into your stock '69 harness.

You didn't mention the fuse panel so I'm not sure.

www.speartech.com can help alleviate the retrofitting of that LS1 harness.
Are you installing the dash of the GTO as well with all the dummy lights and gauges ??

I put an '04 GTO LS1 into my 78 Camaro and John Speartech did the mods for mine to
integrate into my existing Painless harness.

Yeah that's a big question. You may ease a few pains by finding an 04 GTO engine harness? They were ls1 their first year before going to LS2s in 05.

I'm already ahead of you. I went and purchased an 04 service manual (2 volumes) and an 02 service manuals (3 volumes) and I already had the 69 service manuals. So I've been studying all 3 wiring schematics. May take alwhile. I have the complete body harness and all the modules.

In the meantime I ran across this

      04 GTO interior in a 68 firebird

This car is on BRP Hot Rods web site. Oh! and he put in an LS7. Man this car is bitchen!

      So this is my inspiration.

Thanks AJ, for all your help. Well, I decided to ditch the 02 Camaro harness and I got an 04 GTO manual harness. This will make life a lot easier. It should be mostly plug and play . Anybody iterested in a good 02 camaro ss auto harness and pcm?

So what I am winding up with is an 02 LS1 engine, 04 GTO T-56, with 04 GTO harness, Complete 04 GTO interior and Body harness all in a 69 T/A firebird vert. Pretty trick huh?

Stay tuned for future developments. I'm going to try a document as much of the interior install as I can. I'm not sure of all the problems I'll run into. Still waiting for the engine to get back from Nickens Bros. They said it will be ready on 10/24. The body is just about completed and in primer, then I will get it back to do all my fabrication. Still haven't decided on wheels yet.

      Interior Fit

The dash on the 04 GTO is 54" and the 69 is 55". I believe this will give me adjustment room to slide the dash in. I know I will have to cut the 69 metal dash structure, that will leave me with mounting points to mount the 04 dash. I then replace the parts of the 69 dash with some sort of support braces as I believe the 69 dash add regidity and support to the cowl. Anyway thats the plan.
