Thanks for the kind words, guys.

Carl, the driveshaft comes clearcoated from DTS.

Also, yes...Stainless Works headers. They're actually being built as we speak. I should have them at the end of the month. If I have to cut, reroute, or weld anything then I am going to be up sh*t's creek without a paddle....I can't do that stuff. LOL!!! When I went to order these headers, Stainless told me this was the part number that I needed and that they are specially made to work with the factory power steering box and S&P motor mounts. Damn....I sure hope you're wrong, Carl. LOL!!! If not I might have to send these down to Parsons in Orlando. LOL!!!

Awsome to see Tony!! Looks like you got er all cleaned up nice! Can't wait for the day that I not only get a LSX for the car... but the day I can put it in! Way to get my motivation going!!

Can you PM me all the info on the driveshaft (length etc.)? Since I'll be using the same one on my end as well.

Keep the updates and pics coming!!

Just tell em 50 and 1/4 inches. That's what mine measured out to be. Fit like a glove too. I was surprised to learn that my old driveshaft yoke from the original Powerglide transmission fit into the 4L60E. But I didn't end up using the old driveshaft, I had a whole new one made with a 3" tube and new ends.

Even with an auto you would want to measure for yourself as some plates move the engine back/forward/up/down in various combinations so what works for one probably will not work for another unless all mounting is identical.

Yeah...you'll need to measure regardless, Buddy. I highly recommend DTS. They're up in Warren, might not be a long drive for you. I paid $250 out the door and they had it done in a day. They will set you straight on how to angle the trans and measure for the driveshaft. Good people, they know their stuff. Ask for Rob if go through them.

Sorry, I thought you were using a different set of mounts. The S&P mount should work fine.

I'll be tring to shoehorn the SW's with ATS plates and possibly short frame mounts.

Most exhaust shops can cut and reroute tubes.

By "short frame mounts" do you mean the 327 mounts?

Well...if it comes down to it I do know a good exhaust shop down the road. But I hope not. LOL!!!

      Tony,

I have been keeping an eye on your thread from the start. After I get my heart recharged I would like to come over and check out the progress.

I'm looking forward to RTTH4 . You and I need to bring a video camera next time.

Most definitely, Roger. When you're well and able we'll have to have you and the Mrs. over for dinner or something.

Santa brought a late present to my house. These are Stainless Works headers part #CALS1B for the stock steering box. The quality of these headers is amazing and they fit like a glove with the S&P motor mounts. Here's a few pics. I highly recommend them. And I must say I highly recommend the S&P motor plates too. The one drawback is that they do keep the motor a little more forward than other plates do but for a street car I think it's worth it to sacrifice the little bit of weight transfer advantage for better fitment of your parts. I also had no issues with my alternator to frame clearance either.

      Tony,

Do you have to cut up the floor pan to get a T56 to fit with the S&P mounting plates?

Are you keeping that gear box or replacing it? If replacing it then pay the extra to have it thermal coated.

Nice to see the project moving along so well, can't wait to see it killing cones at PF. ;)
