Where are you located? If in Wisconsin I can build you some with the car from whatever you like.

      headers

I am in OKLAHOMA CITY, I have a guy that could build them locally but the material alone is a fortune.

Material will be astronomical but that's just the cost of doing turbo business. Call Mike Duffy Race Cars, he should be able to help you.

Thanks Jim, looks like I am in for ugly any way i go - i had hoped to find some where the project was scrapped or changed. Don Dial in Seminole will probably do the turbos - he did the rear suspension and I like his work better than Mikes - although he does some nice stuff also.

depends on the material and the design... if you take look at schwartz extreme performance´s homepage in th epicture section.. there is a couple of race proven 1000+ Hp ls7 twin turbo engines that run mild steel log style manifolds made of 2 90deg elbows and 2 T´s welded on a flange... so it doesnt have to be all 321stainless- nelson racing 6000 dollar headers... (that crack over time, as do all thinwall stainless headers sublected to that kind of thermal stress)

i talked to jeff schwartz on the phone about having a set made and he quoted me a price of about 1000 dollars for a set of log-style twinturbo headers...(he is also very reasonable with his turbo prices)

Guys for what its worth, I own and operate a small turbo shop. Tube headers turbo setup's using all 321 SS are very nice and serve a purpose. For the average guy that is not needed though. A well designed log manifold will make more power than you will ever use and be as structurally sound as and header setup. Not to mention alot easier to package.

I have made over 900rwhp with Log manifolds in some of my earlier setups. I have done a few full tilt tube header setups that have made well over 1000rwhp. The difference in the two setups was twice the cost.

I by no means am trying to step on anyones toes. It is just food for thought.

Duece I called Jeff about those headers and he wants 2500 for a set of LS1 manifolds that are pictured. If you can get them for a grand then thats a deal. I want to do a TT setup in my 65 Impala. I have a 6.0 and a bbc and can do either one I just need to get the manifolds.

wohaa... supply and demand i think it was last year they were in the development stages and he offered to weld up a pair for the quoted price, but guess they got more expensive to make, and why sell somthing for a grand when you can get 2.5 x that..

I do however have an idea for you ... and i had it working on my 66 impala, for the BBC i tried flipping a pair of corvette headers upside down, and they looked like an early nelson setup... (i can send pics in a week, and i am willing to part with the headers... i also have a different solution for you.. i happen to gave a single turbo setup for an LS engine on hand, with a polished turbo... good to 800 Hp, compleet with manifolds, crossover, turbo, intercooler wastegate and BOV...

      interested... shoot me a PM

Twin turbo bbc and lsx headers

Heres some shots of a bbc chevelle and lsx chevelle tt headers we sell i sell them for 5000.00 a pair. You get what you pay for on a tt header.Trust me on this one i've tried every way i no how on making them for cheaper but to do a set nice you need some key things One being a master fitman and master welder.I've had probally 10 different welders in the last 4 years everybody thinks they can do it but when they get a job here they don't cut it.We put 25 hours just in fit on one pair of headers you cannot see light threw the joint before we ever hit it with a torch everything is back purged so the weld on the inside is as clean as the outside. If its not right it will crack or the weld on the inside thats not purged will get blown into the turbo not good for the ex wheel. If your making power your glowing the hell out the hedders. In the dyno room if i do a back to back pull at the end of the second pull i can literally see the gas in the pipe moving by the pipe on the outlet of the wastegate. My advice to someone who is looking at headers for a tt application save up and purchase the right stuff mild steel or stainless not done correctly is just wasting time and money.

I think that is why the OEM's use cast manifolds in their turbo setups. It's a lot cheaper, and they'll last forever. The only downside is looks and probably weight.
Look at the Banks TT kit, yeah its only for a SBC, buy the manifolds are cast. I think I remember reading here on this board that Banks was working on a BBC set up. We can only hope! There is a user on here by the screen name of "Slow4dr"(i think thats his name) and he works for Banks, guess it's time to start prying!

I dont think Banks will be doing anything for a BBC soon. They say that there are so many variables in BBC heads. They are working on a LS turbo system but realistically it will be a year before its out. I think I'm going to go with there SBC system for 4500 without the air or carb enclouser. I have a Super ram intake so I dont need it. The nelson stuff is real nice but its expensive and I only want to make 700 to 800 horse with my 396SBC.

Let me add that I have the Nelson TT LSX headers on my Chevelle, and they are the highest quality headers I've personally seen. I am very happy with his work.

Hey Tom, I like your BBC turbo headers. If they fit an early (1964) Nova with an Alston front clip I'll take a set. I just don't want to buy them and find out I have to have them modified.
