How come my brakes performance is going downhill fast?

Not too sure if I should be posting in here or somewhere else being that my brakes are front disc rear drum. I'm wondering why when I got new rotors and pads my brakes worked excellent but it has been only several months I did that and the brakes don't grab near as well as they use to. It is a stock setup except for the braided brake lines. Could this be because a layer of rust is on the rotors? Or maybe they have become glazed? Thanks in advance.

If you have rust on your rotors you need to get it off and use some 36 grit emerycloth sheet and sand your pads good.
Also double check the adjustment and dust build up in the rear drums too.
As they settle in the first 32nd or so wears off pretty quick and the dust really messes with brake performance nad the rear brakes adjusting.
also make sure that you remember to leave your foot on the brake pedal after backing up so that when you drop it in gear to go forward you will make the adjusters work.
Also you might want to flush your brake fluid especially if you dont drive it alot but use the brakes hard when you do.

Nah just gets between the shoe and drum and acts like ball bearings as its attached to nothing.
And it will cause squeaks and squeals and groans and all sorts of nusiance noises.
And it keeps the shoes from adjusting as you back up.
Remeber you need to let the car rock forward with your foot on the brake pedal after a fairly aggresive backing stop and this allows the self adjusters work.
