As for trying a NASA event, I might be up for a driving school or open track event, but I don't think I'd enter any real racing events with my current car. Also, considering all the mods I've done to my car, I'm not sure if all the changes will pass NASA's specifications. Is there place where I could learn more about the specifics regarding car modifications (i didn't see anything when I scanned the NASA website)?
Joining NASA is a fun experience. They have a run group called HPDE, (high performance driving experiance). In HPDE there are 4 levels, 1,2,3,&4. Level 1 you ride with an instructor in your car and they show you the racing line on the track, level 2 you run on your own but no passing, level 3 is limited passing, and level 4 is balls out. It,s $45 for one year membership then you have to pay $159 a track day and you get 4 20 minute sessions on the track. It would be great to see guys from this site at the events.
