Need help with Silverado 1500HD rear brakes.

It is a 2003 1500HD & had 2 piston rear calipers. First off, how do you get the caliper off? With the Torx bolt that the caliper slides on, or the hex bolts that hold the caliper bracket to the rear? I took one off with the hex bolts. Second, how the F&^% do the pads come out of the calipers? I can't figure out the MF'er.

      Please help.

First you remove the caliper then the caliper bracket.
pull the rotors off and replace them, Unless ou can getthen turned on car you can have issues.
IF you turn them mark one of the studs and the rotor, also mark them left and right.
Now if thier is rust inside of the drum part it needs to be resurfaced too, to remove the rust just watch the max diameter.
FDONT use cut rate rotors if replacing and let me know I may be able to get you a deal on delcos.
also if they arestocking near you I would use either NAPA Ceramics, AC Delcos pads or Performance friction .
also use a good silicone based lube on the slide pins, the back(backing plate) of the pads and loctite the caliper bracket bolts with blue loctite.
also a light lubing of all points of pad sliding helps with squeals too.
In a pinch you can use the AE United series brake pads but they will dust a little more.
Absolutely do not use Wagner or Bendix pads,,,pure junk from my experience.
NAPA premium United rotors do wotk as long as you dont super overload it, Also the premium Raybestos too.
If its awork truck and gets used to tow and haul a lot of weight the best combo for stopping is AC Delso rotors, and the Performance friction pads if you can get them as they are only out in limited numbers so far.
Also DO NOT PUSH THE PISTONS BACK IN WITH OUT OPENING THE BLEEDERS AND LETTING THE OLD FLUID OUT. iF YOU PUSH THEM BACK CLOSED IT CAN AND WILL GET BACK INTO THEMASTER CYL AND abs AND EVENTUALLY CAUSE SOME HAIRY ISSUES.
      Good luck
