      Rotor upgrades?

      Hello
I was wondering if you can upgrade to a larger rotor with baer brakes?
Okay, I am building a 68 Chevelle & still have a lot of parts to buy. But I want to install new disc brakes on all 4 corners. But i don't have the cash for the 17X8 & 18X10 wheel combo. I currently have 15" ralley wheels, but thought about buying the baer serious street 11" rotors & down the road change to the 13" rotors. Without buying the whole different kit.
      Is this possible?
      Change you just change brackets?

      Thanks

Baer's "Serious Street" kit uses C4 (PBR) Corvette calipers, so in theory you should be able to step up to 12" or 13" rotor options in the future as both were offered on the C4's during various years. The caliper is limited to the 28mm rotor thickness, so you won't be able to step up to C5/C6 stuff but maybe you don't want to.

I would call Baer or one of their distributors (Marcus @ SC&C) and ask what would need to be changed in order to accomplish what you're looking to do.

I asked one of the reps from baer & they told me. If I want to change from the serious street 11" rotor to the 13" i would have to buy the whole kit. And he said they don't sell the bracket separtely.

I'd run what you've got until you can afford wheels and tires. No reason to buy brakes twice when you know where you want to end up, since you'll just be delaying the eventual from happening sooner rather than later anyways.

If you're rolling drums now, maybe you could find some cheap take-off discs to get you by in the meantime from someone else who's upgrading their scene. Could be worth posting a "Wanted to Buy" ad and weighing the response.

Get a good set of pads for the front, something like a Hawk HP+, you will be surprised at how well a stock brake package can work.
