      700r4 Install help!!!!!

While my firebird is being painted I bought a 1972 c-10. This truck was driving by means of a cam'd and carb'd vortec 468ci and a slippery 700r4. I found a killer deal on a unopened tci streetfighter 700r4 for $1100 and jumped on it. I installed it along with a hughes 2500 stall a the included lokar tv cable. I got the adjustments close as the truck drives desent, but I have some problems.

      1. Will not under moderate acceleration shift into or stay in 4th gear under 60mph or so.

      2. Has tendency to not release lock up at lower speeds or coming to even a slow stop, constantly will not unlock under severe braking.

      3. Will not always downshift under circumstances that you would expect it to i.e pedal to the metal.

Some of the old timers I know say it's fine... but I expect that the transmission can perform better. I looked around in this section for a while but couldn't find anyone with the same problem.

Should I just take it to a reptuable trans shop? I live in sacramento and would be willig to pay to have this problem ironed out thanks guys.

Also, only the vette trans, possibly Z28 or Monte SS, will stay in O D for any time at all. Even then it'll downshift at a certain throttle opening. All the standard car and truck units come out of O D with barely any throttle.
