      Talk to me about pads

I'm pretty comfortable with brake math and caliper / master cylinder sizing, but don't really know that much about pads.

What types of pads are out there and what are the pro's and con's of each? Ceramic, semi-metallic, carbon...???

      Thanks

      That time of the month?

      j/k

What type of driving are we talking about here? From what I have seen/heard/done the Wilwood BP-20 or Porterfield R-4S are the best street/AutoX pads and the PF R-4 and Wilwood race compunds (too many to list as some are for shorttrack and long track use) are for serious road course work. These are however NOT USEABLE on the street unless you like replacing rotors every 10k miles or less.

Do you still believe in all the things that you stood by before? Are you out there on the front lines, or at home keeping score?
Do you care to be the layer of the bricks that seal your fate? Would you rather be the architect of what we might create?

I'm talking about spirited street driving with an occasional autocross. No real track time, and I don't want to be replacing rotors all the time.
