      3" Exhaust kit needed.

I need to order and exhaust kit for my car real soon. I want to run an x-pipe or possibly an h-pipe. My options are 3" magnaflow kit, 3" flowmaster kit, 3" oval with spintechs (from ram air restorations), 3" x with flowmasters from torque tech, or last 3"-2.5" x with my current 2.5" flowmasters and 2.5" tails with my tips. The thing is, is that I like the way the car sounds now (I have no crossover, its loud and never herd spintechs or magnaflows.) Also the magnaflow and flowmaster kits jog up at the mufflers (nice to have) everything else just goes straight. I can get a killer deal on the magnaflow kit through the gp store if I order by the 31st, I just don't know how any off theses kits fit. I'm going to be prdering dougs 1.75 headers also.

      Listen to this...

      Attachment 18292

      Stahl stepped headers, 2" to 2 1/8", 3.5" collectors, 3.5" head pipes leading into a 3.5" Dr. Gas X crossover, 2 Spin Tech R/V mufflers w/ 3.5" inlets and 3" outlets, ending in 3" over-the-axle tail pipes.

If you prefer to just buy a kit that bolts on, you might want to check out Pypes. I bought a complete stainless 3" kit w/ X crossover and pair of their Race Pro mufflers for $400. The price is a bit higher on their web page but I bought it off their truck at a show I attended so I got a "show" price.

Well I ordered my exhaust. I went with 3" oval with x-pipe to spintech mufflers and 3" tails with factory gto tips out the valence panel. I also ordered dougs 1-3/4 coated headers. I think this set-up will give me the ground clearence, sound and look I want. I'll take pics when I get everything on.

Cool. Which Spintechs did you get?

I originally had their Sportsmen Street mufflers on my El and they sounded awesome. After a while though, they became annoying on long drives, which is why I now have a pair of their Truck/RV mufflers on the El.

I went with the regular sportsman. I actually like listening to the exhaust and not the radio, but I don't go on any real long drives mabey twice a year I'll drive to the strip 250miles round trip. Your elcamino sounds wicked and is a very nice car. When I herd that clip that made me want spin techs. I have high compression, good headers and decent cam so it should sound mean. I don't think I would have been happy with a stright-tru muffler. I'll get a sound clip of my exhaust too.

Sorry for your luck, but hearing that makes me feel better about my choice of the Race Pros for my Chevelle!

Is your kit 2.5" or 3"? If it's 2.5" I have a set of practically brand new Dynomax SS Ultra Flows that I'll let go cheap. I bought them for my Blazer but after a week of driving it everyday, I decided they were too loud. I promptly removed them and installed a pair of Flowmaster Delta Flows (or whatever they're called).
