GM SB2 heads & fuel injection, anyone running it?

I'de love to have this setup, for the cool/different factor, but can't afford it. Anyone running this heads with some type of port fuel injection? Show some pics please.

There's some Lt1 guys that have converted SB2 heads and modified the intake for injectors. Do a search on Ls1 tech for SB2 heads

Wish I could tell you more, or give you the site, but I found a guy who will refab an LT1 intake to fit early small block heads, I just did a search for LT 1 intake installation on early heads. I hope this helps.

An LT1 intake modified to early Chevy heads is totally different. SB2.2 heads are the ones that look like baby big block heads that NASCAR uses.

Yeah, we have one we are finishing now. 427 Old School Small Block with SB2 heads. made decent power, nearly 700HP. I will get some pictures when I get back home

id get a custom aluminum manifold with injector bosses and just do a BS3 or FAST system.

Why the low number? From what I've seen, you guys know how to make power and you know what the SB2.2 stuff will flow. Are there other design constrictions on you?

The car at Franks is very big on the wow factor with that SB2.2 and FI. The biggest problem with an SB2.2 is making it reasonably driveable. The heads and intake flow so much that they demand a lot of cam to really take advantage of the flow which tends to lower the lower RPM performance. You go to a smaller cam to get some low and midrange power back as well as driveability and give up some top end. Add fuel injection and it makes it a much nicer ride.

Mike is correct, it has a baby cam in it. Mid 250 range duration, Low 600s gross lift, which is teenie tiny for a motor this size. Put a big stupid 274 / 280 & .050 and put some more gross lift in it, like .750 that will kill the springs, and she will pick up 100HP, LOL! Won't be able to cruise at 2000RPMs, would have to change valve springs every day. But we would have a more impressive number.

700HP out of a 427 NA, is damn impressive. And until someone drives a 700HP Pro Touring car, that have not **** themselves yet!

we did a 454 dirt late model motor with them and made just short of 1000hp, and 975tq

Damn cool, I've been kicking around a building a street motor with them, but haven't had time yet. Has the wow factor for sure.
