3" Drop Spring Front - 67 Camaro - First Gen

I know there are several manufactures that make a 2" drop spring for the front of the First Gens. Quite honestly, this doesn't drop the car in the front as low as I would like it to.

Does anyone know a place that makes a 3" drop spring?

Bad move it you want any sort of suspension movement if bump. If you want to get that low a better solution would be a set of ATS spindles and the 2" drop springs.

Would the QA1 Coilover Shocks get me this low? They say the QA1s are adjustable.... but... How adjustable are they?

Sample pic attached. Mark Stielow used them on the Thrasher. Google can help you further.

Agreed. 2" can set the frame on factory LCA bumpstops. Talk about 0 bump. If I used 3" drop springs, even with my GW LCAs and their short stops, I would proably have 1/8"-1/4" bump travel.

Don't go that far with the spring alone!!

those are spring spacers. weight jacks have a central bolt that doesn't allow you to run a stock mount shock, but it allows you to adjust ride height without removing the spring.

Speedway Engineering has them. They are for use with a 5.5x9.5 racing spring.

Besides the semantics (even Mark Stielow calls 'm weight jacks, but what does he know . . . ), you don't have to run 'm with a race spring, you can also run 'm with a shortened/cut spring. I use 'm on my car in exactly the same way Mark did with the Thrasher; on top of the spring so they're hidden. That also means you have to remove the spring to adjust 'm.

When we go back to how this story started; if you can't find 3"drop springs and decide to cut 'm and it turns out they're too low, you don't have to throw away your springs. However be reminded that cutting springs will also raise their rate. Alternatively you could order the forementioned 'race' springs (available in a lot of rates) and combine 'm with the jacks/spacers. Have a look at the Landrum springs site.

Do this: Take your existing front springs out, re-assemble the ball joints and suspend the crossmember with a floor jack at 3" drop. You can raise and lower the car with the jack to visually check and measure clearances everywhere. You'll see that the suspension geometry is out of whack and clearances (ground, suspension, tires) are most likely unreasonable for anything but parking at a car show.

Performance cars are no fun at all if you must constantly slow down to a crawl to avoid scraping--or worse--bottoming out your suspension which is potentially dangerous.

If I were you I would first check ground clearance and control arm clearance and will do nothing for performance, just something to keep in mind
