Big Block people with Lee steering boxes please help!

ive been trying and trying to make my Lee 670 steering box fit but im having no luck. i have the hooker big tube headers that i THINK are for a manual steering car which sucks cus i dont have the extra cash to buy the right ones. ive tired banging in the areas where the box is hitting but i think ive dented in the headers probably too much and it still wont fit. and to top it off, one of the fittings the line goes to is hitting the header as well and that too has been dented in. anyone know how i can fix this? someone said to cut the tubes out and re place them but im hoping theres somehitng easier.

      thanks
      Jesse

Most of the time big block clearance issues ar from using small block frame stands. The O.E.M. mounts and stands raised the motor up and to the passenger side for clearance. The trans mount is moved over too. The engine mounts will interchange, but then the steering box issue starts. Some headers will need clearancing even with the right mounts.
