      '68 Pontiac wagon project

      wagon project

Well, I've officially started on converting this remnants of a '68 Pontiac Tempest Wagon into a Touring machine.

I've updated the website with the progress so far.

I've got the drivetrain sorted out. I've got a nice lil 350 sbc and a 700r4 tranny from a '90 Iroc which is being beefed-up at the moment at Carolina Transmission in NC.
I have a fresh Chevy 12 bolt rear with a new Eaton posi unit with 3.73 gears. The rear came from a '71 Monte Carlo and has the sway bar and boxed lowers with Poly bushings. That, with a decent set of shocks will have to do in the rear for a while until the rest of the car is sorted out.

I have a set of 17" x 9.5" ZR-1 Corvette wheels that I'm going to try to use.

Any comments or suggestions are welcomed.

Think I can turn this sled into a decent performance cruiser?
      On a budget?
      A low budget?

I'll try to keep the website updated.

      Later.

Some valuable info might be obtained from The Pontiac Street Performance web site. In particular Jim Hand.
