I really screwed up this time!

Well I hope you guys are having a good holiday. Mine was going just fine until about an hour ago.
Christmas morning, the wife and I were headinng into NYC from our home on the east end of Long Island. We got off Sunrise Highway and passed a familiar 70 foot tall abstract sculpture as we've done 1000 times before. It always raises the same debate. "It's a deer" says the wife. "No, it's a rooster looking up at the sky--hence the name: Stargazer", I say. Back and forth we vollied...until I decided to propose a little bet to put the dispute to rest once and for all:

"When we get home, we're gonna do a littlew research on the internet about Stargazer. Whoever is wrong will have to wear their halloween costume throughout an entire food shopping at the local supermarket. That means deli counter, aisle after aisle, and the check-out line."

"No way" she says. "Why?" says me, "If you are so sure it's a deer you have nothing to worry about."

On our way home, we pass Stargazer once more and back and forth we go: "It's a rooster"; "It's a deer, you bonehead!" "So the bet's on then", I say. She pauses and then shakes on it. Her hesitation is understandable. If she loses she will need to walk through the supermarket in a very skimpy "Lil' Red Riding Hood" costume--in January! "Hi. Can I have a pound of turkey--sliced thin please...."
Or: "Uhh...That'll be $178.42, Ms Riding Hood."

But our research on Christmas day, did not produce the answer. Plenty of info on Stargazer, by Linda Scott, but nothing indicating what it actually portrays--deer or rooster?

Well today, the wife--bored to death at work--dug a little deeper and came up with the answer:

Let's just say that I will be walking through the supermarket dressed--head to toe--as the Big Bad Wolf. Full head mask, long, pointy fingered gloves, and a full hairy costume.

"Excuse me, can you tell me what aisle the dog biscuits are on?"

      Steve,
It is against the law in Tennessee to go into a store with a mask on.This could go from bad to worse for you. Then again it could get you out of the deal. Please, whatever you do, do us a favor and don't drive the camaro to the store. I can see the news now-Local pro-tourer arrested while in grocery store dressed as Big Bad Wolf.Lil Red Riding Hood is missing. More at eleven.
BTW have you not learned yet not to argue. The correct response is as follows, repeat after me-YES DEAR,IT IS A DEER,THANKS FOR TELLING ME WHAT IT IS.I LOVE YOU DEAR.

The first step of becoming a better driver is to attend a track event, time yourself, and realize the fact you really suck.

Yeah--what the hell. I'll have her take some pictures.

      Bill,
I hadn't thought about the whole "arrest" thing. I guess I'll have my wife take pictures of that as well.

damn, I see it both ways. But I'd have seen it her way, I'd have to admit. what do you guys think?

oh and steve. Google is your friend. (or enemy in this case)

At this point, I am trying to eat our current food inventory as slowly as possible in an effort to delay the inevitable. Tonight I suggested we eat out. I even offered to take her to her favorite restaurant. She, of course, responded by cooking a big meal.

If I were you Id hurry up and finish the food before the weekend so that you can go shopping on a weeknight. Not nearly half as many people in the store later at night during the week.

Cmon' Steve!! That is a deer!! I don't even see a rooster though. Got any pics of yer costume? Actually, it will be worse for her to be with you while shopping, they can't see your face!!! You can do all sorts of things to embarass her behind that mask!! Start humping her leg or something.
Here was our costume a couple years ago.
