      Upper Control Arm Shaft - What to torque to?

      I have a set of SpeedTech UCAs for my 68 Camaro.
      The instructions did not mention a torque spec for the UCA cross shaft bolts... what should I torque them too?

      The shaft-to-frame bolts are 85 ft/lbs on a 2nd gen
      1971 Camaro, 383 stroker ~500HP,M21 Trans with lightened flywheel. All Sorts of Auto-x Goodness in the Suspension. 12" Brakes ->SOLD

      I was just talking to Mark at SC&C about a similar topic today. He recommended 60 ft/lbs for the 7/16 grade 8 bolts I'll be using on my SPC upper control arms, would be closer to 80 ft/lbs if you were using 1/2 inch grade 8 bolts.

      I emailed SpeedTech and they said adjust them like a wheel bearing, snug it up and insert the cotter pin.

      I think the responses differ from the question here. eville, you are talking about the specs for the ends of the cross shaft correct? Where the UCA bushings are? Then yes, it is like a wheel bearing. The shaft to frame bolts require a torque spec as noted above.

      Yes, they are actually nuts, at the ends of the cross shafts next to the CA bushings.
