You can replace your pump with something else if you want to but it`s not necessary (provided your pump is working 100%). What IS critical is that the box you use is valved for the pump you`re using. The best box in the world valved for a 1967 pump won`t work very well at all hooked to a late model Series II GM pump from a rack from a rack and pinion car. Their volumes and pressure curves are totally different. Use a pump that`s in good working order,match it to the box and you`re good to go. If you want to usea more modern box because of easier packaging with a remote reservoir,more modern seals and fittings etc. that`s cool just,again make sure the box and pump match. Lee will built and valve a box for any PS pump you can think of. We`ve had them build some really strange combinations already that worked fantastic.
BTW due to a health problem Tom Lee is only in the shop a few hours a day right now so he may be a little hard to get a hold of. He`s doing well and should be back up to speed soon. They`re still shipping custom boxes for us in less than a week though. Mark SC&C
