The second car I owned was definately a streetfighter type of car. It had a nasty 327, Super T10, 3.73 posi, Herb Adams suspension, and of course no a/c, and this was back in 1986!

I know I got a little carried away building my El Camino, but at least I made sure it has plenty of attitude to go with the shiny stuff.

My current project (66 Chevelle) will be more in line with the minimalist idea, like my Camaro was back in the day.

Yup, it's still around. I saw it at the LA Roadster show two years ago.

Oh, it's finished! MUCH diffeent than the prototype yu saw in Pigeon Forge last year. Water jet cut edges, tumbled strut rods, stainless steel piano hinge, SS hardware. Jake even D.A.'s the bends in the base plate to get rid of the crowns and then the whole thing gets brushed. It mounts to the factory spoiler holes--that was the hard part. Black anodized would be cool--or just paint the backside of the spoiler to match a black tail panel, but leave the front face natural. We will polish the one that's going on our blue car.

Not planning on making a center stack, but our main cluster will match yours nicely. Should be able to fit a couple of small secondary gauges in addition to the 5" speedo/tach.

Steevo I'm gonna take some pictures of the rear of my car this weekend and come up with my idea for the rear spoiler and shoot them your way. Then you can tell me what you think.
I like the blue idea. Candy blue would have an anodized look. You can always paint over them if you don't like it.

Steve, count me in for a 69 if there's one still available.

Any plans for a companion front spoiler? What about a center tach/speedo module for 69's?

I absolutely LOVE that some people don't get it. I've always been a non-conformist. I guess that's why Pro-Touring appeals to me as much as it does. The best part was a few months ago when my cousin and a bunch of his 'old school' pals came over to see my car. The blank stares my suspension parts and LS1 got were priceless.

Suffice to say, there was a lot of this going on. I loved it.

Yeah we talked about this on the phone last week. The idea is still rolling around in my head so I think it's a good one. Plus like you said I can always repaint them a diffrent color.

Okay, here is the current prototype. It is very close to finished. Some shaping will be added to the ends of the upright. The top corners will have some curvature. Price is set at $569.

Very nice. I'll have to step out of line at this time though. My budget is in the way.

The sound you hear is me digging through the 'ol pickle jar for nickles and dimes....and $100 bills.

What is the range of adjustment?

You got a shot of it from the side? Front 1/4?

What is the angle at the lowest and highest adjustment point?

Do you reckon the mounting is compatible with a fiberglass decklid?

Back in the day (read: The 80's) My pal Dirk had a 78' Magnum that could easily be considered a pioneering "Street-Fighter". Dirk twisted those torsion bars so low the front bumper almost scrapped. Mind you this was no junker. It was a spotless survivor car that Dirk finessed into a real corner carver with many handling enhancements. Outfitted with a set of all-business Centerlines (the ones with the holes in them and exposed hardware) and a stance that screamed "I will pass you"!! Dirk talks about the imaginary passenger side brake pedal............I pushed it many times whenever he got on or off I-95!! Although the Magnum met a not-so-nice end to its life (ask Dirk if you want to know), it was in my opinion, ahead of its time and truly a predecessor to what is known today as a "Street Fighter". (Don't have any pictures of this mean machine but shown below gives you an idea for you youngins')

P.S. - Stevo - that spoiler is awesome! A must have! Keep us posted as to any production plans! Or maybe I can commission a "one-off Twist Original"?!?!?
