Define "super cheap" and we will tell you if it's possible.

Also, do you want a driver or a project/roller?

you can probably find a 67-68 rolling project car that needs quite a bit of work for $2500. 69s will cost more.

I doubt you'd find even a roller for $2500. The best you could probably get for that amount is a shell that's been decimated. Jump on eBay, most of the rusted out rollers on there are around $4000-$5000. These cars just aren't cheap anymore. You're best bet for that year would be to go Firebird. But even then you're pressing your luck.

      camaro

I looked on ebay. nothin a teenager like me could afford.

I thought about taking a 73 or 74 nova and hanging 72 sheetmetal on it becuase those are still dirt cheap. what do you think.

      thanks Bryce

+1 on Tony's suggestion. Look for a firebird or nova.

yeah, right on with the nova idea, they are practically the same as a Camaro undernieth, but look better lol. If your set on a camaro you might try Craigslist.

Just spend a little more and start with a 68-72. If you start with a 73-74, it'll still never look right, and resale will be way down.

Starting with a rust free car or close to it will put you money ahead vs. replacing all the sheetmetal.

I agree, get a 68-72, 73/74s can look awsome too but they arent worth nearly as much when/if you decide to sell.

i just can't afford a 68-72 a good rust free one on ebay is getin in upwards of 3500 4000 dollars. but i suppose a camaro costs just as much. I'd almost be willing to build anything as long as its not a ford.

      Thanks Bryce

Not sure if you'll warm up to this idea or not, but it's worth a shot.

      What about a non-Chevrolet A-body? Or possibly a '70-'72 Monte Carlo?

I know they're nothing like a 1st Gen Camaro, or Nova, but worth a look, IMHO..

This is the "rough" Camaro you get for a few thousand bucks.. crazy..

      http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1969-...em290133385822

Cheapest first gen I found.. $3700 buy it now.. needs work.

Meanwhile first gen firebirds are much better deals..
