      H pipe/balance tube... torque?

Trying to get through this driving season without a total redo on my exhaust system. I have been having trouble with interior resonance, and just generally too loud overall. I can not do a proper x pipe without rebuilding so I just put an H pipe in for now. I was wondering if an h pipe can hurt my bottom end? Maybe it is just coincidence, but it seem like I lost some torque. Is this possible? I have 3 inch exhaust 427 BB

Wow. That shouldnt make that much of a difference... its not too big, as to effect the overall volume. Huh... maybe a co-inky-dink.

The only thing(s) that I can think of is... its placement is too close to the collectors, and that you probably havent re-tuned the engine for the net effect of the balance tube.

It will effect the required jet size.
