      Overhaulin and Rides Tonight

      Well, if you missed it. There were two of the best episodes of these respective shows on tonight. Overhaulin did a 71 Challenger that turned out really nice IMO. Then on Rides they showed the build of Joe Rogan's 70 Cuda. This also turned out really nice, though I would have preferred smaller wheels, but hey its not my car.

      Damn! I still have goose bumps. An awesome night for car guys. I loved both shows and both cars. The metal fab work on that plymouth was fantastic. Didn't like the wheels though.

      those wheels looked horrible, the rest of the car was flawless. if it would have had maybe 18's 19's max it would have looked so much better.

      I agree with you guys, I'd take either of those cars (and I'm a die hard Bowtie guy) but the 20" rims just don't look right. If they'd make a 17" or 18" version of the rim they used on Overhaulin' I bet they'd sell a ton of them. They can keep the stereo equipment too, put that money into the engine and suspension, that Hemi's the only song I'd need to listen to!

      Shows.....

      The Overhaulin car & owner were the best they have featured yet!!! The Rides episode was really great detailing the build and custom work involved. Just imagine if you had a show where a regular guy builds his own car over a few months and you get to see it all???

      Yeah, I'm not a MOPAR fan but am now. I didn't like the solid silver that Joe Rogan decided to go with.

      I think they were unhappy w/that choice as well. But, it would be pretty easy to put the 2-tone over the solid silver when/if he's ready for a change in a year or 2.

      I liked the stance & how they set the ride height/suspension up.

      Dang that Cuda is awesome!!!!!!!! That has to be one of the nicest ones I have ever seen by looking at that pic.

      One of our Moparts members worked on the Rad Rides car. I'll post some pics he took. Some info on the car:

      Started life as a CA 70 340 Cuda, motor missing, no fender tag. Magnum Force Chrome Moly K frame, modified S10 spindles, rack and pinion steering, 528 Crate Hemi from the Hemi Dakota that Troy built in 2000. Troy built serpentine accessory drive, twin throttle bodies, John Meanie EFI setup, and Troy built shorty headers. 4 Link rear suspension using Detroit Speed and Engineering pieces, coilovers, and awesome fabrication by Dan, "Fab1". 727 with Gear Vendors overdrive, Dana 60 style rear from Strange Engineering, and new big driveshaft tunnel to allow 4" road clearance. Marker lights, doorhandles, and trunk lock shaved. Rocker panel extensions, fender extensions, fabricated front and rear valence and spoilers, boxes built for mufflers. Painted Nissan sporty silver, 2003 color, with charcoal accents. Recaro seats and Griffin interior, DVD, Autometer gauges in stock dash, shift light, and some big honkin stereo. Billet Specialties one off wheels, 19's in the front, 22's in the back, tucked way up into the car. I'm sure I missed some stuff, but gives you an idea. Been great fun to see this car come together.

      It's cool car but has a few problems it's to heavy
      And he better stick 18 inch wheels at the front and some 19 inch at the back and the wheels are to bling bling( better handling with smaller wheels).
      The brake disk are wrong the large rotor are for the front and smaller ones are for the back.
      Thats what i have the say about the sick fish.

      For the most part I agree with you guys on the wheels, I'm all for pushing the envelope on everything, but the rear wheels look just a tad overstuffed. I think maybe one size smaller in O.D. on the rear wheels and that'd be perfect for me. I do like the larger wheel and tire combos that guys have been putting on there rides. Just looking at the Cuda and it almost seems unreal, very fantasy-like. It looks like a 'Cuda Concept car. That's what's gonna catch the attention.
      The paint I think is a "3-tone"? Isn't the hood flat black, then red on the rest of the top surfaces, and then silver on the sides? In my opinion when you start to get too many colors on a car like that I think it gets too busy. If it's all red on thetop the and then the silver on the sides then that'd been real hot. It'd be tough for me to decide on 2-tone or solids now - seems everything's getting 2-toned now. Sometimes clean is just clean!

      That Cuda is Schweeeeet!

      Hey PeteRR,glad to see another moparts member (blakcharger440) on here!
      I for one think that Rogans choice of color for this beast was a good one!
      I just think that the paint scheme that Foose had planned for it would not have looked as good.
      I also think that the rear wheel diameter is just too big and kinda cartoonish.
      But overall that car is killer!

      Both awesome shows tonight! I agree, the wheels could have been a bit smaller on both cars, but I guess they were going for more of a street rod look. Still AWESOME!! I liked the original design that Chip came up with for the paint on Joe Rogan's Cuda. I think it would have looked even better with that paint scheme, it may have distracted from the wheels as well.

      Very SICK car, The 22" looked a hell of alot better on this car then on the cuda in PHR this last issue. Did they do any improvements on the front suspension other then relocating the crossmember???
      I would have perfered a new Hemi crate engine. What ever happeded to the turbo he was holding (race version only)

      I think it was a new Hemi crate engine, the 528 cu version. And I was wondering the same thing about the turbo.

      i think the spr-chrgr was a bit much for joe as far as the paint goes brain by joe, 20 minutes in the penilty box!

      I thought he was holding a procharger or some type of supercharger I really dig the car. I even liked the 22's because they didnt make the car sit high or even have thin tires. I loved the stance too!!! I been trying to find pics of the car, no luck yet

      I thought Joe's car turned out awesome. Not a fan of the wheel design, although the sizes did look pretty good, thank's to the great stance of the car.
