      76 trans am rear rim size

      Im most likely inheriting a 76 trans am in the next week.I have 17x9.5 with 4 1/8 bs boyd coddington starburst rims on my 73 vette,can i put them on the trans am on the rear ,my fronts will fit 17x8 4 inch bs.Im looking to get new rims for the vette anyway.

      73 corvette chop top silver LS6 motor ,LS6 intake,700r4,2400 pro torque convertor ,3.70 gears,modified hooker sidepipes to fit LS1,17 x9.5 boyd starburst,nitto 275/50/17-255/50/17 tires,vb&p suspension,nitrous,L-88 headlights,autometer guages.L88 hood,flares,spreader bar,vb&p sway bars

      You should be able to fit them. Most guys with 2nd Gen Firebirds/TA's will run a 17x9.5 with a 5.5 backspacing. They generally run 17x8 with either a 4 or 4.5 backspacing on the fronts.

      Where is Absecon NJ? I'm in Jersey and have never heard of that town before...

      yeah i figured theyll probably not have enough bs,maybe stick out an inch or less ,im 5 minutes out of atlantic city.

      The fronts should be fine with 4"... but yeah, the rears will probably stick out a bit past the wheel well lip... I've seen 9.5" wide rims run 5" backspace though and it looked good... so it may not be too bad with 4.5".
