Fuel tank?
So I'm definitely going with EFI for my 71 Roadrunner. I'm in the process of replacing my trunk floor and I need a new gas tank. I hear people talk about some fuel tanks as EFI tanks, as opposed to others. I dont like the idea of plopping a fuel cell in the trunk, taking up so much space, and I'd like to keep the gas filler behind the liscense plate (I just think that's so cool). Is there any problem using a stock style tank, even if it was for a carbed system, and I'll just have to plumb a return line into it, or is there more?

I'm running efi on my bird. I had a fuel cell in it for a while and just put my tank back in so I could have a trunk. I used a sump on it and used the factory feed line for the return. I also made some internal baffles for it and installed them when I put in the fuel sump. Just drove it 200mi and no problem.

I did drill holes in the tank then cut aound them all so I would have plenty of room to work in. Then I tacked some baffles to the inside. Might have been ok with just the holes but you dont want to run dry in a fi car. Heres some pics.

Dont forget to etch and seal your tank when your done.
It really helps to weld in a drain plug. This is really helpful to get the sealer out.
