Installed new carbon fiber front spoiler today...

I received it several months back but was waiting for a buddy to paint a car in the booth so he could lay more clear on it in an attempt to smooth out the slight imperfections in the gel coat...here it is the day I received it...piece is 3/4" taller then stock:

covers are on 24/7/365...car doesn't come out at night.

Damn Damn Damn i was hoping there was someway that light actually came through. Nightshade just doesn't seem dark enough. Thanks though, your Camaro still looks amazing.

I love your car, and I dig those CF spoilers. But, believe it or not, I think the OEM style one matches your car better. The flat black ties in with the retro theme and the flat black grille/bumper/headlight mods you've done.

I was thinking along the same lines. I love your car! It looks beautifull, has a great retro attitude, and gets driven! After some thought and reviewing the pics I think perhaps a darkened flatter clearcoat would look nice. From a short distance it would could flat black but up close you'd be able see the cabon fiber through the clear.

I think the CF looks great, and I think a "flatter" clear would do wonders for matching the car.

Now THAT is a good idea. A satin black tinted clearcoat, to make the spoiler more "race" looking instead of custom. Function over form. Might even be cool if you put some stainless screws along the top, about 4 inches apart, so that it looks sturdy mounted visually. Just like a real racecar sheetmetal/cf spoiler would have.

I had a carbon dam on my RX-8 and I might give one suggestion. If there is room on the bottom side of the lowest lip try to put a rub strip, aluminum or hard plastic. The gel coat chipping at the front edge and cracking is a problem, this helps. I know at $700 for mine that will piss a person off. The carbon wont give like the soft stock one it could damage valance in a hard rub because it it is so stiff. Just be carefull, like you can, at 100mph plus bottoming out the susp in a low spot, or corner curbing it. But battle scars might be impressive on your all business look. It looks great. Just my two cents.
