      e-Coating in Chicago, Indy?

I'm going to finally have the bodywork started on my Duster very very soon. I'm trying to get e-coating set up but my body guy is pretty busy and a haul from central Illinois (that's where the car is) to the Detriot area is going to be a huge PITA for him, let alone 4 (drop off and pick up from stripping, then bodywork, then another 2 trips for coating..diesel isn't getting any cheaper!)

I've found places that can strip it in Chicago and Indianapolis, but nothing as far as e-coating. Just want to make sure Detroit is my closest option before I foot the bill for 1300+ miles of hauling.

      Thanks guys!!

You can locate any kind of industry in any area with this site. Not always easy to find exactly what you want, but it'll be a big help.

If you mean carponent that did the Mule I don't think they are doing cars anymore at least that what I heard a year or so ago. I don't know of anyone doing it for the public.

The place around Detriot I was talking about is Redi-Coat (www.redi-coat.com). I think they have another name for their comercial jobs, but they gave me a quote last week so I hope they're still around!

Redi-Strip in Indianapolis said they knew of a place in northern Indiana that did it but didn't know what it was called. From what he said it didn't sound like they did a very good job though, as he said of the 3 people he heard from, 2 wouldn't do it again as it wasn't much better than what could be done with an air gun (ie, the coating didn't get inside seams). I was under the impression this e-coating primer made it anywhere water could get to??
