I agree with you Mike--but unfortunately the local police disagree. I was forced to re-wire mine during safety check. As has been said, the only way to do it is to run another wire from the switch under the brake pedal. Very simple to do, but, as you know, if you want to run it with the other wires going to the rear lighting harness, you'll need to take a chunk of your interior apart to run it.

I have been looking for a setup as well. Here is what I have found

      http://www.spoilerlights.com/servlet...rolet:Cavalier

It looks a little long - 15.5 inches, but it could be a misprint.

The light part number is, 22611505-LAMP HIGH MOUNT, the plug is,12085481-CONNECTOR REPLACEMENT PACK, the longer version of the plug, with the longer wires is,12148769-harness assembly. The light fits up to 03-4-5 Cavalier, unsure on what year they start.

Sorry Steve, I totally forgot this thread. I just put a call in to my bodyman to verify the part number on the brake light. I will post as soon as I find out.

I think I prefer the rectangular Cavalier light. It seems to flow better with the taillights on the first gen

I also noticed the 3rd light on the Dodge Magnum today (too much time sitting in traffic everyday) might work as it has a little more of an LED look to it to match the taillights better.

      Watson Streetworks LED Lights

I also wanted to add a 3roiler (69 Camaro). I ended up purchasing an LED light from Watson Streetworks a couple of years ago (car still under construction). They have several choices, including billet frames:
      http://www.watsons-streetworks.com/leds_plus.html

The Light I picked (Part #L58SMB) is designed to mount from behind and to be sanded smooth with the body and eventually clear-coated over. Since I am painting the car red, it is my hope that the light (when not lit) will blend in with the body.

Here's a picture after the initial install...

This is the Cavalier light installed. This is with it lit up. It matches the tail lamps great, it'd look even better with L.E.D.s

I have a 67 Chevelle and a spolier wasn't and option. I ended up using a LED 3rd brake light from a Tahoe (1998 and older) and mounted it on my rear deck lid inside the back window... It matches my LED tail lights and you can see it for a good distance. Right now I have it just hooked up to one barke light and it flashes when I signal left.... My idea was to hook it up to BOTH brake lights BUT put a diode in line with each positive wire from left and right light... This would keep it from feeding back to the brake light and basically makes an "OR" logic circuit... but this will still let it blink if you have your signal on and you don't have your foot on the brake... The wiring is just a theory... Havent had a chance to try it yet.... Radio Shack has a pack of diodes for like $1.94 . . .

They came out bad .. the camera take crap pictures at night ...

      One close...

and one from across the street ....
