      Prop Valve Location Question

I have 4 Wilwood Dynalites, 3/16" stainless lines from Inline Tube, Wilwood 7/8 master, and no booster. I want to splice the aftermarket Prop Valve in the rear line next to the Master Cyl for accessibility.

Any reason why this would be a bad location?

      Thanks,

      Phil

That should be fine. Someone even sells a bracket to mount it there.

      Thanks for the confirmation guys.

Jeff - do you happen to have a pic of your setup?

hey Phil, heres a couple pics I took this weekend. I just finished my brake lines last week. Sorry, the wiring harness clutter screws this first picture up.

BTW I made the bracket out of some scrap sheetmetal.

Thanks for posting, that's pretty slick. I hadn't thought about putting it beneath the Master.

How close is the rear line to your headers? Just wondering about heat.

Here is mine. The guy who did my brake lines thought it would be cool to drill the MC reservoir and bolt the prop valve to it.

Egads! Putting two holes that can possibly leak fluid out of the reservoir for the FRONT brakes makes me a bit nervous!

The only place you can't put the prop valve is between the master cylinder and a distribution block/safety switch (if you have one.) The safety switch will see the pressure differential between the front and proportioned rear circuits as a leaky rear brake circuit and throw the safety valve cutting the back brake circuit off and turning the warning lamp on. If you are running a safety switch you must plumb the proportioning valve in the line leading from the safety switch/distribution block to the rear brakes, that way the safety switch sees equal pressure across both the front & rear circuits.
