wayne due with qa1 coil overs?

I have a wayne due c 4 front end with a set of qa1 adjustable coilovers. my motor is a ls1 6 speed combo. my question is what spring should I use to balace the car out as well as lower it slightly?right now with the spring adjustment is just about all the way out{within a .5 inch}of the threads the car sits just about at stock ride height.also it looks like to get the wheel to sit straight I will need to shim it quite a bit.looked at photos of mule suspension and it looks like it is shimmed pretty good too.any suggestions would be great.

You can go to a different height or rate spring to get your adjustment in range. Do you know what spring length and rate you have now? For adjustability without any shims at all we offer adj. tubular ProLite upper arms for C4s. You might need to swap to a set of shorter springs. You can run either a 10" or 12" spring on Wayne's subframes. My guess is that you have the 12" springs based on where you say the car is sitting. Switching to the 10" springs will probably solve your problem.

Is your car on the road yet? If not, you might want to drive it with your current springs and see how you like the spring rate. I think most people were in the 300-350 lb. range in his C4 subframes. I think I had 300 lb. springs for mine, which was also an LS1/T56 car. I sold the frame before I got to drive the car with it, so I can't tell you how they will ride.

For the alignment shim problem, I would suggest getting the front end aligned to the specs you desire, then maybe make some steel blocks that match the thickness of the shims you are using. That way it looks clean, and you can always fine-tune the settings with a washer or shim if you ever need to. This is what I have on the Wayne Due C5 sub on my '67 Camaro.

BTW, you do have the factory aluminum spacers for the upper control arms, right? There are thick ones and thinner ones, and you will want to get a set from the chevy dealer if you don't have them already.

Yes I do have the factory spacers and I agree that the solid steel shim idea is the way to go.I believe I must have a 12 inch spring because with the car on the ground and the spring adjusted just about all the way out it measures 10 inches.Not looking to slam the car on the ground I just want to lower it enough to tuck a little tire.thanks for the suggestions.

I have 12" springs on my C5 subframe, and they are maxed out as low as they can go. I am pretty happy with the ride height, although the left side is a little higher than the right (and it cannot be adjusted any lower). I may switch to the 10" springs on my car so that I have more adjustability. I also may want to stiffen up the front a bit. I have 450 lb. springs & I may step it up to 500's. The good news is that those QA1 springs for these shocks are cheap.
