Anybody running a 4l80e with a PCS controller?

I just got a 4l80e going behind my 468 twin turbo motor and was wondering if someone is running that trans with a Powertrain Control Solutions trans controller behind a turbo/supercharged motor. I just got back from the first test drive and now I need to learn about setting up the trans. Is it possible to email different tunes for the trans back and forth? I drove it for about an hour, just cruising around mostly. It has the base tune and seems to upshift real soft, at least from second to third and to 4th. I love the cruising 75 mph at 2200 rpms part, so much nicer than the old 4 speed. I can see it will be a learning experience figguring out how to program the controller. So does anybody have any pointers, suggestions for me?

      Thanks in advance,
      Mike

never used that computer, but have tuned the electronic auto with TCI, and the Ford and GM factory computers. They're all about the same. The first thing I work on is the part throttle and full throttle up and downshift areas. Then I tweak the pressures to get the firmness wanted, realizing that you don't want to go overboard here. The last area I work on is the lockup/unlock areas if you're working on a lockup converter.

You should make little changes at first. One area to watch out for is overlapping some of the graphs and getting the upshift/downshift areas and lockup areas wrong and getting the trans to hunt around for gears and locking/unlocking the converter.

Before you do anything, copy/save the original file! You'll always have something that works to go back to. And avoid making too many changes at once until you get used to the software.

      PCS Controller Software

      Mike,

I am familar with the PCS software, if you would like to send me your calibration file, I can take a look at what you have the settings as. I can make some changes if needed and send you a new calibration file. Let me know if you what me to look at it. Once you get it dialed in you will love the 4L80-E.

I've tuned the PCS controller as well. Once or twice. But I'm getting ready for the Bullrun so call Mark. It's easy. Waay easier than tuning fuel injection.
