Widest Front Wheel on the Chassisworks Subframe?

I know the article on the frame says 17x8. Is that the widest because of the stock inner fenderwell? I would be fabbing my own inner fender well would I be able to get away with a wider front tire? Im looking to go 9 or 10 in the front. Im putting a mini tub kit in my car now and I think a 8" front and a 12" rear would look kind of funny.

I'm running C5 8.5" x 17" wheels on the front of my stock subframed, stock fendered '68, so I'd certainly hope you can go more than 8" with an aftermarket subframe.

Most aftermarket subframes can handle a 10" wheel up front, but I'd call Alston to be sure.

Its been a while but I believe we only got 9.5x17 275 to fit and it rubbed on u turns or near lock conditions. No wheel wells.
