      Finally Starting One!

After years of drawing up renderings for others, the wife and I are finally going at a dream we've shared for years (well, me since high school, her since she couldn't bear my whining anymore...). I had created sketches for it a looooong time ago, and a decent rendering some time back, and as of last evening, we have found a decent donor car to start with, a 1971 Nova, that will receive a lot of style from a '69 Camaro (sheetmetal, etc)... A travelling salesman friend had been scouting for cars for some time, and was a great broker in the deal.
It's a lofty plan, but we've got a majority of the technical stuff figured out, and have chosen a shop in the mid-west to help out on the heavy fab work.
It'll run 302 cross-ram (our nod to the DZ 302 Camaro's), a T-5, and a 9-inch, and inside, we're leaving the bench, just to be different... There's a lot more to the plan, and I'll share more as we go along, and pull hair out, cuss, eat a lot of Raemen....

A seamless marriage of two awesome cars. You make it look like it was meant to be. Glad you're finally building this one, I've been drooling over it forever!

You must, without fail, no matter what, provide pics of the front sheet metal conversion. I know I'm not supposed to covet my neighbors car ideas but, man you make it a real challenge.

Thanks everyone for the kind words... we've been plotting this monster for years, and are finally at a point where we can make it happen! I'll share more on the what/when/where very soon, but suffice to say that we've assembled a crew that my wife and I are ecstatic to be involved with... and thanks for overlooking my typo in the title... I guess that years of staring at the doodles and scale models have left an impression on me.
restomod, thanks, man! And thanks for the parts info! Hopefully we can run 'em down the road together soon!
Ben, you and I discussed this thing in some detail at SEMA and prior, and your support of the concept is a great compliment! Can't wait to see yours progress further! (if you slow down, can I borrow a bit of your floor pan?)
I will show the final rendering soon, and suffice to say, the wheel and tire combo are a world apart from the incarnation posted...
The sheetmetal conversion will be documented (we've made the measurements, and refined the idea to almost a scientific level... and changed our minds about 15 times... and have finally settled on a straightforward approach -- we'll share what works, and what brought the scrap guy joy, as well)
In any event, thanks again! We're psyched!

I thought I'd share the final rendering for the front, reflecting some major changes, namely the loss of the vinyl top, and new paint idea as well! We're wavering between a few small details on the rear, so look for that view soon, too...
I'll post photos as things progress, and thanks again for the positive feedback!

MHT F-1's, actually. They're the wife's late favorites, and may change as we move through the project...The Osiris is a very cool wheel with those flat-face spokes, but I'm partial to the look of the spokes on the MHT model.

Fantastic idea. I cannot wait to see this buildup. Definitely one of those "why didn't I think of that" designs. Looks like it should have been done that way.

Those wheels borrow a lot from ROH modenas.
