69 Camaro Turn Signals (cancel function)

My turn signals do not turn off when turning the steering back to the straight position once making a turn. I installed a tilt column out of another 69 and quite honestly, I didn't even look at the orientation of the column/spline position. Question...does the spline need to be in a certain position so the canceling feature work for the turn signal work properly. Also, does the hole for the horn ground on the column need to be in a certain position like 10 or 2 oclock? Please advise and thanks in advance for your input!

As long as the wheels are straight, and the steering wheel is straight, you're fine. You need to swap the signal canceling cam out. Odds are it's broken. It's plastic, and it happens. You gotta remove the steering wheel to get to it.
