Do you think this will work?

As mentioned in one of my prior posts, I have installed a 9" rear in my 69, but the guy who built the rear-end left the companion flange yoke in it. So, originally I was going to replace the yoke with a more typical 1330 or whatever, and then do what is necessary to get the driveshaft to mate up.

However, I was sniffing around Currie's site and I found this item:

      http://www.currieenterprises.com/ces...e.aspx?id=1043

It's a companion flange adapter, that mounts to my big round companion flange and allows the driveshaft and u-joint I currently have to still work. Does anyone see any problems with doing it this way? Am I really taking the easy way out at the expense of performance/reliability?

      Thanks guys

Ugh, nevermind guys, I just got a call back from Currie and they say it won't fit the old style companion flange I have. So nevermind that, guess I'll have to go the expensive route on this one and replace the yoke.

If you can get the other half of the companion flange that is on your 9 inch the you can use it. They just take a comon u joint.

I ended up having a new driveshaft built with the end that matches up with the companion flange yoke on my 9". The guys at D_ick's driveshaft in Phoenix had it built in a couple hours and now that it's installed I'm glad I went that direction. The companion flange assembly looks like it would be quite strong, but I'm no engineer so who knows.

      Thanks for all your input,
