      Understanding how the heater works?

On a 1st gen, it appears that heat only comes out of the bottom of the heater box and to the defrost ducts (not to the side vents in the dash)? is this accurate?

I am routing my duct hosing and it appears that the dash vents only pull fresh air from the top of the cowl, I don't see how it would connect in any way to the heater box. Is this right?

      Thanks,

      Phil

The fresh air is pulled from the cowl, around the firewall and into the cabin via the pass side kick panel.

You are right, the heat only comes out from the lower vents, not the dash vents.

Anyone know where to get dash shut-off vents for a '69 non-AC car? Ames and Classic only sell the 67-69 shutoffs for AC cars. (which I now have...).
