Any try these on stainless tubing ??

I'm looking to run hard stainless line along my frame for my supply/return lines for my fuel system. Stainless can be a real hassle to flare. I found these fittings by Russell for their aluminum line. They crimp on sortof like a compression fitting. I asked them if they can be used on stainless. They said on low pressure lines yes. Anyone ever use them ???

I used them on a 1/2" fuel line with Aluminum tubing, worked fine. I don't think they would work on stainless - it is too hard to 'give' enough to seal. Think of a compression fitting on copper plumbing, like an icemaker - the ferrule actually causes the end of the tube to distort to make the seal. I think stainless is even harder than mild steel, which is why I always fight to make stainless hard brake lines seal even though mild steel ones are leak free. I'm no expert, just my guess.

Swagelok fittings are about the best thing for stainless there is... with no need to flare... and pressure handling capabilities that no other can come close to.
