      Fuel pump ques.

      What is the most power anyone has made with a single Aeromotive A1000 pump using efi and boost (aprox. 65psi fuel press.).

      I run 45 psi and am over 800 rwhp.

      I'm not sure yet if my car is going lean because of the 55lb inj. or fuel pump. The afr goes dead lean at 5400 rpm and 520rwhp. on 383, d1 with about 18psi boost.

      I can check the dyno sheet tomorrow, but when testing with 83 lb injectors and 9 psi of boost, it was around 965-970 hp with an A1000 pump running almost 70 psi at it's max before the Eliminator pump had to be kicked on. That would lead me to believe that it is probably not the pump assuming you have the proper lines and the fuel isn't being overheated.

      have you looked at the injector duty cycle numbers? That will tell you for sure, as long as fuel pressure is staying steady and not dropping off.

      Here is a small clip from one of the dyno runs. The columns your are interested in are: 1- RPM, 2- TQ, 3- HP, 7(last) - Fuel Pressure. Note that the A1000 was maxed out at the 5600 rpm line and then started falling short. The run was aborted around 6000 before it leaned out too much. You'll notice the TQ/HP numbers in that range start wobbling from inadequate fuel flow.

      I swapped the A1000 for the 11104 Eliminator pump when I went past 800 rwhp.

      Good to see that kind of power with the a1000, I should be alright. I will be running the 55 inj.'s, with 4- 72's as secondaries under boost. I should have more than enough injector. I am looking for 650-700 rwhp.

      I finally got my new ecu up and running pretty good exept one thing, fuel pressure does not climb as much as boost. I'm seeing about 18 psi boost and fuel pressure only goes to 57-58 psi (43psi base). My afr was in the high 12's, only 16* adv. thankfully. I'm running 55lb injectors with 4 xtra 72lb injectors on secondaries.
      Now I'm wondering if the a1000 is enough.

      If the fuel pressure is steady I would not be concerned. I still would look at injector duty cycles also, and I'd richen it up a bit more with pump gas. Upper 12's a/f is the high limit, mine actually picked up 50 rwhp by richening it down to 12.0 or so.

      Why don't you step up to a larger 72 or 83 lb injector, then you dont have to worry about the booster injectors. I run 96 lb injectors on this fine Milwaukee Pumpgas with over 800 rwhp with the A1000 at 45 psi and NO boost reference.

      Something to think about...

      WAY too rich when I ran 72lb'ers (at idle). I'm using a phased seq. inj sys., not fully seq., so my minimum turn on time is still too high to get a clean idle/cruise. That is the reason for the staged setup. Unfortunately, this necessitates the rising rate reg. and diminished flow out of the A1000 pump.
      I might go with 2 Bosch pumps or the Magnafuel Pro-tuner 625 or 750.

      hmmmm, I ran 95's with non-sequential and it idled fine. I could lean it out till it wouldn't run if I wanted. That was with a FAST EFI box.

      There is no reason in the world why you should not be able to idle lean with 72's. Both Camcojb and I ran 96 and idles great, I used to have 83's on my last motor and had no problems either.

      What software, sounds like a simple tune issue.

      Are you guys running full sequential, or batch fire systems?
      If the minimum turn on time is 1ms at idle, and I need to be at .5ms to run lean, how in the world am I suppose to run it lean?

      You should be able to try a number of different things.

      -First, there must be away around the 1 minimum PW setting. Have you called Electromotive??

      -Second, do you have an injector flow rate setting you can manually adjust? If not, when you entered the fuel injector and fuel pressure into the software it should have come up with a min and max PW range work from. The way to trick this might be to say you have a larger injector then you really do. This will change the default minimum PW setting to a lower number like .5 maybe. The fueling for idle should be able to be lean enough, and anything above that will be automatically lean until you command the AFR and VE tables to read richer numbers where needed. It’s just jumbling numbers around, but it all comes out in the end.Very easy thing to do and should work, but I am not familiar with your software.

      I run the factory computer and had to do some tricks like this to get my PW down to a good level to idle at 750 rpm with the 96lb injectors with a little 350 cube motor.

      We are running a TEC 3R. It will run both 83's and GOOD 160's at idle just fine. Obviously, the bigger the injector, the trickier the low speed programming is. You might want to call Tom Nelson at NRE. He knows those TEC3 setups inside and out. Why reinvent the wheel ?

      I will take my motor SBC 383 procharger 12psi to the dyno in a week or two. I am aslo using a tec 3 with full sequential.
