      Opinions On Set Up Pls

It's coming around to spring again, so im gettin ready to start restoring my 79 T/A. It's not gonna see much track time if any, i just want a fun weekend car that can handle well. I'm starting with the front subframe ive got one from my other T/A pulled out. I'm planning on having it powdercoated to clean it up some. I'm gonna be going back to school in the summer so im not gonna have a butt load of money to spend, so im tryin to do it on the cheap. Let me know what you guys think of this set up, and if youd reccomend anything else. Hotchkis TVS Big Block Suspension Kit, Hotchkis HPS 1000 Shocks front/rear, moog steering parts, stock control arms with energy suspension bushings(was thinking bmr, but figure its not worth the like $800 for my use), does anyone make del a lum bushings for the factory control arms? performance years has a steering gear box that is 2.5 turns lock to lock, AGR power steering pump, baer sport brakes front and rear. let me know what you guys think of this as a start, or if youd reccomend anything else, thanx.

      Sounds pretty good so far.

Del-a-lum bushings are made by Global West and the will fit your factory control arms... they're just expensive... but worth it! Poly control arm bushings generate a lot of controversy... some love 'em hate 'em. You can't go wrong with the Del-a-lums though.

Chip Woyner at www.powersteering.com can rebuild your factory box to a 12:1 ratio for about $260 (+ shipping). That's who I plan to use. I know some folks who've used him with great results.

If you don`t have them already I`d put subframe connectors at the top of the list. Aluminum or poly subframe bushings too. Those springs and shocks will be just dandy. The Baer brakes are great too. Is your steering box worn out? You`ve already got at least an RTS fast ratio box. If it`s worn out you can also send it to Lee Power steering to be rebuilt and or ratio changed. They do an awesome job of revalving them. Those cars really like some more + caster and - camber. See if you can get around +5.5* caster and -.5* camber it should make a big improvement. It`s usually hard to do with stock upper arms. Our adj. tubular upper arms make it easy and already come with high performance bushings. We have a package with tall upper ball joints to improve the geometry but for mild street use they`re not really necessary. Frankly those cars are pretty good all around performance cars in stock form. Mark SC&C

List looks good. Add SFCs as stated above and use the Del-A-Lum bushings.

Does anyone know if Lee enginerring has a website?

Do you still believe in all the things that you stood by before? Are you out there on the front lines, or at home keeping score?

True,it`s just a single web page. You can call them at 818-768-0371. They`re really great folks and Tom has forgotten more about steering gear than most whole companies will ever know. Mark SC&C
