      Mini-tub Tire Fitment

I'm doing a custom mini-tub on my '69 Camaro. The inner wheel well was moved in about 2", the springs and shocks will be moved inside also. What kind of clearance do I want between the tires and fender lip/inner wheel wells? Is 1/8"-1/4" clearance plenty between the tire and fender lip? Is 1/2" clearance enough between the tire and the inner fender well? Anybody have any advice? Thanks.

If your running a link type suspension with a lateral locating device then you can get away with 1/4" min outer. On a leaf sprung car the min should be 1/2" outer and 3/4" inner minimum. The tire archs inward and upwards as the axle housing raises. I usually go 1" outer and 1" inner to allow more room, ecspecially if the car is driven hard.
