How to prevent problems after paint is removed?
I am planning on having the paint stripped from my car but I am afraid of creating a bigger surface rust issue becasue forward progress with my project is very slow these days. I am in IL and the car is stored indoors. If the car is primed shortly after the paint is removed will everything be ok? How much time will I buy myself? I just don't want to create bigger problems down the road. Any advise would be appreciated.

after striping the car have epoxy primer put on. this can be top coated with filler and primer. epoxy is best product on bare metal. only on thing more durable e -coat electrostatic dipping of the car.
dupont makes a primer called a (dtm) direct to metal that is an epoxy.

02-12-2007 #5I don't think so. You would have to sand off where you're going to weld.

you would need to grind the spot where you need to weld. but use weld thought primer when welding two panels together then clean up edges. then reaplly epoxy.
this is for the best results
