Looks like a proportioning valve alright. All of the valves I've seen have the rear line come out of the back. The 5 port vavles have to holes in the front, one to each front wheel.

need brake help
There is one line on the back that goes to the rear brakes but there is one line from the left front that goes to the bottom on the back of the valve. I'm not sure the guys that did the brakes knew what they were doing. The car is going back to them today to find out what is wrong.
