      racepumps.com and EFI

anyone running one of the piston pumps ( www.racepumps.com ) with efi? I originally bought the pump and regulator because I thought this would be the easy and cheaper way out of doing an electric fuel pump in tank with the additional hassle of fuel lines. After researching, I am back to my original plan but want to know if anyone has done it and what to watch out for. I'm running a SBC with the edelbrock pro flo. I'll have to block off the regulator on the manifold, can I get away with just capping off the AN fitting for the return line or should I just remove the entire assembly and plug it. I saw a block off plate for the top somewhere but now I can't.

I'm not too thrilled with the priming procedures either - spray fuel into the throttle body, yikes.

Howard Steward of racepumps.com had some awesome customer help. I sent emails on saturday night around 8pm not expecting an answer until monday morning. I got one shortly after sending it. Samething on a sunday morning. Pretty cool.

I ended up selling it. I wanted to drive my car everyday if necessary. I wasn't too keen on potentially having to crank the car over a billion times to jam pressure at the rails if it bled off. I guess the guy I sold it to discovered that there had been some design issues with the pump bleeding off pressure and that a $75 upgrade would take care of it. I'm not sure where he found the info or the exact details.
You might face problems with the pickup becoming uncovered and I plan to autocross my car so it wasn't going to work for me. My advice is to put the $400 towards a Ricks EFI tank which is what I have now. However, I am no expert and my car isn't on the road yet.
