Why does my Brand New fender not fit??

As you guys may know, my car is being saved from a total wreck.
When something doesn't fit right, I fear the worst! Bent body/frame/floor,etc!

So, when my brand new left fender didn't fit, I immediately feared my firewall had been pushed back. (I bought from Ricks 1st Gen not sure if it's OER or Goodmark..doesn't matter though)

What I didn't expect is to have a brand new fender with a DESIGN FLAW. WTH? The fender is prevented from going far enough rearward and leaves about 1/2" gap at door panel, and from bolting to firewall spots.
Seems to me that EVERYONE would have experienced this very same fitment problem. I'm surprised I didn't read about it before, maybe I missed it.

First picture is just for scope as I zoom in on the trouble spot.
2nd pic is the trouble spot.
3rd pic is passenger original fender fit.

Have you guys already seen this or experienced it firsthand?

I just experienced that this weekend. That's why everyone say's there crap. Is your inner wheel house loose? Mine was hitting the firewall and not going back far enough. I had to cut all the spot welds off the inner structure and re-weld it because it was tacked in wrong.

Id start doing searches on H/B city BEFORE you buy from them

I bought a rear 69 tail pan from this jackass Bo was that a complete mistake
I emailed the jerk and asked if the tail lamp openings were as Perfect as the pictures on ebay
He stated that his stuff was as good or better than O/G
after ordering my part for 3 times the cost of others It is S 4 ! t
Its a little better than the rest but not 3X the price better
I called them and htye told me they are aware of this defect and nothing is planned to fix it.
I left him a nutral feedback on ebay and he was pissed and started harassing me with multiple emails
If you want copys Pm me. I saved them.

Calm down!! All of the after market stuff ain't real bad. Has your car had quarters put on it? Are you using stock doors? I have yet to see a aftermarket fender that did not need alittle twiking...

GM stuff isn't all it's cracked up to be either. I can't speak for Camaro stuff, but I can tell you that the ALL-GM NOS metal I put on my 442 took quite a bit of working to make it all fit. Just seems to be the nature of the beast on these old cars.

Most of the after market stuff will need work to make them fit perfect.
These cars were not perfect from the factory! Most of them look better now than they did new. I have owned about 25 of them since about 1976 till now and that is just the 67-69 Camaros, I also have had that many or more Chevelles an Elcaminos.
We install a lot of sheet metal an most of it has come from Good Mark.

We just got done a couple weeks ago with a 69 convertable that the owner had taken the car to a shop to have new GM NOS qarterpanels installed that he had bought. For some reason they put them on the car even thou they didnt fit for shiit! He pulled the car from there an took it home.
He called me to come look at the car to see what it would take to fix it.
Long storie short we cut both panels off, installed the doors were they fit then installed new good mark qarter panels. car looks killer now.

Iam not trying to say that the makers of these new panels could not make them better. i think that they can. what iam saying is that they fit lots better now than they did 10 years ago.( For aftermarket parts)
