Removing Parking brake cable from FW

I give up, what is the trick to getting the parking brake cable detached from that goofy connector at the floorpan/firewall.

I unscrewed the 'cap' on the firewall side of things and I've removed the parking brake mechanism.

      How is this thing attached?

I used a cut-off wheel, But I was replacing it anyway. You could try a small hose clamp to get the tabs in enough to get it through the firewall, then remove the clamp.
The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.

I tried the clamp action. No luck.

Ya know what, it's a friggin 37 yr old part. I'll just cut it off and get a new one. Safety first! (and I get to use the cut-off wheel! woot!)
